Healeo ensures the highest proportion of active compounds in a herb through standardisation, which is a specialised extraction process.
HOW ARE STANDARDIZED HERBAL EXTRACTS MADE?
The process of standardization starts with extracting the active compound from the raw herb using Alcohol (Ethanol). The Alcohol (Ethanol) pulls out the active compound in the plant parts, concentrating them in a liquid form. The extraction process is continued until the desired active compound is achieved. The exact amount of active compound is measured using high tech equipment like Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). After it is measured and verified, the desired standardization achieved in the liquid form is dried and tableted.Still Confused?
For example, let us examine the herb Ashwagandha Root (standardized to 8% Withanolides) used in our Immuno Forte:
The main active compound in the herb Ashwagandha is Withanolides. Withanolides have an adaptogenic effect that helps in reducing stress and inflammation, as well as boosting immunity when consumed regularly.

The ashwagandha powder or tablet available in the market contains only 2.5% – 5% Withanolides. This proportion is not enough to provide any real benefits to the human body.

2. CONCENTRATED HERBAL EXTRACTS

HOW ARE CONCENTRATED HERBAL EXTRACTS MADE?
Concentrated Herbal Extracts are made by crushing raw herbs into a powder and mixing them with Alcohol (Ethanol) to create a solution.
Alcohol (Ethanol) absorbs all the nutrients of the herbs and filters out other unnecessary particles, which settles below as residue.
Since this residue is devoid of any nutrients, it is discarded and removed as industrial waste.
The remaining dissolved Alcohol (Ethanol) solution that contains all the nutrients of the herb is dehydrated back into the powdered form. This completely removes the Alcohol (Ethanol) content, leaving behind a pure highly concentrated herbal extract.

We will examine the herb Stinging Nettle Root (Concentrated to 10:1) used in our Lung Forte:
3000mg of Raw Stinging Nettle Root is crushed and made into powder.
The powder is then mixed with Alcohol (Ethanol).
Upon mixing the solution, all nutrients and active compounds will be absorbed by the alcohol, and the remaining powder will form as a residue. This residue, which will weigh around 2700 mg, is devoid of nutrients and will thus be discarded.
The remaining dissolved solution weighing 300 mg, contains all the nutrients of the 3000 mg of Stinging Nettle root. Hence it is known as a concentrated herbal extract in the ratio 10:1 (3000/300).
This 300 mg solution is dehydrated into a powdered form and added to the lung forte tablet.
Thus, it means you are consuming a tablet containing 300 mg of Stinging Nettle and getting the same benefit of 3000 mg of the herb.
